Too much salt is harmful to your body. That is why you should not consume food with excess salt. If possible, you are supposed to cut off salt from your meals. Excess salt can lead to;
Cardiovascular disease
Exceeding the recommended daily sodium intake contributes to a high risk of cardiovascular disease in adults. High salt intake is associated with a significantly increased risk of stroke and cardiovascular disease.
Oedema
Swelling of the knees or feet and even your hands can be caused by oedema. A high sodium diet causes your body to retain water. Depending on the severity, it may be treated with either a change in diet or prescription medication.
Craving more salt/unhealthy foods
Consuming too much salt over a long period of time can make your taste buds accustomed to the taste, no longer registering how much salt you’re consuming.
Stomach cancer
Overconsumption of processed foods is harmful to your stomach. Reducing your bacon, sausages, high in salt and hidden fats can reduce your risk of stomach cancer. Men are more vulnerable than women.
Kidneys
Your kidneys help to remove waste products, balance fluid levels and control the production of red blood cells in your body. With a high salt intake and high blood pressure combined, this can be lethal to your kidneys. This reduces your kidneys’ ability to filter out unwanted toxins.
Bloating
Eating out can leave you feeling bloated and the foods high in salt tend to be the culprit. High sodium foods, usually processed foods, can cause the body to retain water. FLOUR DOUGH

FRESH CREAM
Add cream to your dish to neutralize the effect of salt. It will make the curry creamier and you won’t feel the taste of excessive salt.
BOILED POTATO
You can also add boiled potatoes to your curry and leave it as it is in the curry. It can even help you in making a new dish out of your old one.

Add 1 tablespoon of curd in your curry and cook it. It will add a subtle taste to your curry as well as reduce the amount of salt from it. This is one of the best to reduce salt in curry.
MILK
Adding milk will do the same; it will also reduce the salt amount because it neutralizes the saltiness and balances the overall taste. It will also give your curry a bit of a smooth finish.
ONION
You can add raw as well as fried onions. If you add raw onion then cut the onion in two pieces and put it in the curry and remove it after a few minutes. It will soak the excess amount of salt. You can even add some fried onions for that smokey taste and let them be in.
VINEGAR AND SUGAR
Add 1 tablespoon of vinegar along with a tablespoon of sugar to the curry to balance out all the flavours. Since vinegar is sour and sugar is sweet, the overall flavour and taste of the curry will even out.
