Maurizio Sarri has ignored calls to hand Callum Hudson-Odoi a start in the Premier League after he showed a good play while playing for the Three Lions of England.
Callum Hudson-Odoi was given an invitation to the England squad by manager Gareth Southgate after the team was hit with several withdrawals as a result of injuries.
The Chelsea youngster impressed a great deal for his country having been promoted from the junior team.
In his pre-match press conference on Friday ahead of the all-important Premier League game at the home of Welsh side Cardiff City, Sarri told reporters that an international game against an average team is not the appropriate yardstick to know whether Hudson-Odoi will be a success in the Premier League.
Callum Hudson-Odoi made his Three Lions debut in the home game against Czech Republic which was a Euro 2020 qualifier.
He forced an own goal off Tomas Kalas to wrap up a 5-0 win for the Three Lions before making his full debut against Montenegro.
