Woman found in a pool of blood while husband’s body dumped on the road in brutal Kakamega murder

A man and his pregnant wife were yesterday found murdered in Panyako village, Matungu sub-county.

The bodies of Shiundu Kongangi, 29, and his wife, only identified as Shiro, were found in different spots yesterday morning. Shiro’s body was found lying in pool of blood at their home while her husband’s was later found a few metres from the Mumias-Bungoma road.

The killings are believed to have happened on Thursday at around 2am during a heavy downpour. Family and neighbours said they did not hear any commotion.

“As I was headed to work in the morning a friend came to me and said there was a body near River Kholera that looked like my brother’s,” said Ibrahim Shikosi, Shiundu’s brother.

The family reported that Shiundu’s wife was three months pregnant. Shiundu’s body had deep cuts with his hands tied at the back with a rope.Nothing was stolen from the couple’s house. Police said they were investigating the incident.
