With our Kenya Tourist board marketing Kenya, it has become a popular destination for Hollywood filmmakers. Thanks to the exceptional views of our environment. On this post, we are going to look at some of the famous Hollywood movies that were partly or fully shot in Kenya.

Inception was a 2010 sci- fi heist film that had scenes shot in our beautiful coastal city ,Mombasa, Kenya. Leonardo DiCaprio’s character Cobb, hires the characters Eames and Yusuf. A foot chase was shot in the streets and alleyways.

The Ghost and The Darkness’ is a 1996 about the Tsavo Man-Eaters, two man-eating lions in Tsavo National Park that were responsible for the deaths of the Kenya -Uganda railway construction workers in 1898.

The film, which went ahead to win an Academy Award for Best Sound editing was set in Tsavo, Kenya .

The Constant Gardener was released on 31 August 2005. It is a political thriller film which is based on a story of Justin Quayle, a British diplomat whose activist wife is murdered.

 It was filmed on location in Loiyangalani,in Turkana County and the slums of Kibera, Nairobi, Kenya.

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen or LXG, has two scenes set in Kenya. .

The first one is when Quartermain (Sean Connery) retires to Kenya while the second one is when he is being buried

Eye in the sky Gavin Hood is set in Nairobi, Kenya. In the film, a commanding military officer tasked with the operation of capturing al-Shabab terrorists in Kenya finds herself in a dilemma when a small innocent girl enters the kill zone.

Tomb Raider – The Cradle of Life is a movie which features Hollywood Star Angelina Jolie was shot at Amboseli and Hell’s Gate. It was released in 2003.
