Makueni County Commissioner Mohammed Maalim has called on anyone with missing relatives to report to Makindu Hospital mortuary after wildlife officer stumbled upon six bodies decomposing in Tsavo national park.
According to the police, the six men were likely to have been murdered elsewhere and their bodies dumped in the park.
According to a police report, two rangers from Tsavo West National Park were on mobile patrol on Tuesday when they encountered a foul smell from a thicket.
Upon checking, they found decomposing bodies of six men scattered at different points in the park.
No identification documents were found on them.
However,a police source who visited the scene told Nation in confidence that the bodies are of young men of Somali origin.The information was supported by a hospital official.
The area where the men were alleged to have been found is a kilometre from the main Nairobi-Mombasa highway.
Police from Mtito Andei moved the bodies to Makindu Hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination and identification.
