Every parent dreams of beholding their grandchildren, and sometimes, they can be so excited about it, they overlook the wants and needs of their children.
One woman found herself in a tricky situation with her mother-in-law, after confessing that she and her husband wouldn’t be having children.
She says the mother-in-law had been pressuring them to hurry up and have kids and she snapped and is now facing World War III from his family.
The couple are now five years into their marriage and are 100 percent sure they don’t want to have children, and to seal that commitment the husband has had a vasectomy, while the woman has undergone a tubal ligation procedure to sterilise herself.
After learning what the children have done, the mother-in-law called the woman up and said she was willing to put the issues behind them, if they came over and listened to all the reasons why they needed to have kids.
The wife refused which only further angered her husband’s mother.
“She said, ‘Well then, I guess you two aren’t prepared to be real (Lastname)s. I’d like a refund for what we paid for the wedding.’ (about $400 for rehearsal dinner).”
The woman added: “I hung up on her. When recounting this to my friends, a few of them said that I was the a**hole for dropping it like that. But I don’t think she was ever going to drop it if I didn’t finally make a serious, direct comment.”
