Driver fined Ksh 600,000 for bribing NTSA official with Ksh 7,000

The office of the DPP has said that it is aware of the economic consequences of corruption which are generally severe and tends to strike at very fabric of society.

The DPP, Noordin Haji further said that the media is an effective and necessary ally for exposing and preventing corruption in the country which has acted as a whistle blower.

This comes after a driver was found guilty of offering Sh,8000 and paying Sh7,000 bribe to NTSA official. He was fined Sh300,000 per count or 3 yrs in jail.

During the Prosecution that was led by Ms Vivian Kambaga, Hon. Ogoti said that Morris Logedi’s sentences will run concurrently.

The DPP was speaking during the Kenya Editors’ Guild Press Club Luncheon with the US Ambassador to Kenya who promised continued support to the fight against corruption in the Country.

“…no one is immune from these efforts to rid Kenya of corruption – be you in a position of power or a member of my own staff. If there is sufficient evidence then we will prosecute you”
