Sonko highlights the key role of Nairobi County in boosting the Coffee Industry

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has highlighted the key role that Nairobi County is playing to ensure that the Coffee Industry gets a boost.

The Governor was speaking during the 124th International Coffee Organization Conference at KICC, Nairobi.

Sonko stated that Nairobi is a good venue to address the challenges facing the coffee industry globally.

He also added that Nairobi City County Government plays an important role towards supporting the coffee industry in Kenya because it is where all interests of the coffee industry in Kenya converge.

Sonko says that his Government is committed to ensure that there is necessary infrastructure towards the support of coffee business activities.

“Nairobi houses the Inland Depot for coffee exports and imports, the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and Wilson Airport that are major export points, the Nairobi Coffee Exchange, and over 150 coffee houses.” he stated

In addition, the Nairobi Governor says that the city also has international warehousing companies, coffee millers and marketing firms and several coffee exporting companies which are at the center of ensuring growth of the industry.
