Unshaken & Unbowed: Cellulant back in Business two months after the Dusit Terror Attack

Operations at the Kenyan-based pan African digital payment solutions company Cellulant are back to normal two months after the devastating Dusit terror attack.

The company has taken temporary offices in Westlands- Delta Towers and West End Towers- where its 200 employees are now housed.

“Normal business operations have resumed in our Nairobi office,” the company stated in a Twitter post.

Six of the 21 people killed in the January attack at the Riverside Hotel and office complex were senior IT experts at Cellulant.

The Cellulant employees who lost their lives included a product developer, information security expert, quality assurance office, software engineer and an implementation engineer.

The company also thanked everyone who supported them during the difficult times.

“We felt your love and support throughout this journey of healing and recovery. In every embrace, every word of encouragement given to our teams and families,” said the company, in the statement. “Our future is now. We are here now.”

Founded in 2001 by Kenyan Ken Njoroge and Nigerian Bolaji Akinboro, Cellulant has grown to a valuation of 10.8 billion.

As Africa’s leading payments solutions provider, Cellulant connects merchants, banks and mobile operators with their mobile customers through digital payments services.
