Six arrested with fake phones worth over 8 million in Nairobi crackdown

The Anti-counterfeit Agency (ACA) on Monday launched its crackdown in Nairobi where it got a hold of 6 traders in possession of phones worth over Sh8 million.

The agency brought the city to a stand still, forcibly making resistant traders surrender their goods for inspection.

“Unbranded goods are the source of IP infringements. Unscrupulous traders import unbranded goods then later, while in the country, they fix infringing labels (imported separately) on those products so that they bear known brands,” the agency said on its Twitter.
