Lanes Drawn ! Drama in a Kiambu Church as Bishop Throws away ‘Team Kitaeleweka’

There was a drama at Mwathi church in Karuri village, Kiambu County after a section of Jubilee Party legislators were on Sunday denied a platform to address a church congregation.

Among those present were; Kiambaa legislator Paul Koinange, Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu, Nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura ,Nominated MP Maina Kamanda, and Kasarani lawmaker Mercy Gakuya

Church clergy led by Bishop Wangari instead requested to offer prayers to them where he proceeded to pray for Ruto for over 20 minutes. The MPs then left in huff.

They later joined a service at Restoration church in Banana where they were given a few minutes at the end of the fellowship.

The stand-off happened just a day after the group popularly known as ‘Team Kieleweke’, threatened to explore Article 150 on the Removal of the Deputy President.

The team has on several occasions threw their weight behind President Uhuru Kenyatta’s war on corruption.

Maina Kamanda, then joined other lawmakers in demanding for the ouster of the DP saying he was attempting to sabotage President Kenyatta’s war on corruption.

The leaders, who were speaking on Sunday at Halleluiah Gospel Church in Banana, Kiambu County, included: Mr Jared Okello (Nyando), Mr Paul Koinange (Kiambaa), Mr Peter Mwathi (Limuru), Ms Mercy Gakuya (Kasarani), Mr Joshua Kutuny (Cherangany), Mr Ngunjiri Wambugu (Nyeri), Mr Robert Mbui (Kathiani), Mr Stephen Mule (Matungulu), Mr Muturi Kigano (Kangema), and Igembe North MP Maoka Maore.
