Several students are feared injured after two neighboring schools went up in flames on the night of Tuesday, March 19, in Kitale, Trans Nzoia County.
Reports claim that parts of St. Josephs Girls High School were engulfed in flames at around 10pm.
Students and teachers from the neighbouring St. Joseph’s Boys High School responded to the incident where they helped extinguish the fire and bring the girls to safety before fire firefighters intervened.
Moments later fire broke out at the boy’s school where property of a value yet to be established was reduced to ashes.
The girls school had just celebrated a prize giving day that fated good performance in 2018 KCSE exams.
