Former Starehe MP Maina Kamanda and his Nyeri Town counterpart Ngunjiri Wambugu among other 11 MPs have attacked deputy president William Ruto have warned Deputy president against polarizing the Country.
Speaking in Limuru over the weekend,the MPs said that Ruto is busy attacking president over the fight against corruption.
Among those present from Jubbilee included Hons Mercy Gakuya (Kasarani), Maoka Maore (Ntonyiri), Maina Kamanda (Nominated), Paul Koinange (Kiambaa), Joshua Kutuny (Cherangany) & Ngunjiri Wambugu (Nyeri Town)
Others from opposition included Hons Samuel Atandi (Alego Usongo-ODM), Anthony Oluoch (Mathare-ODM), Caleb Khamisi (Saboti-ODM), Godfrey Osotsi (Nominated, ANC) & Robert Mbui – (Kathiani-Wiper).
The MPs said that corruption has no tribe or party; and it must be won irrespective of the threats from Ruto allies.
“This war against corruption must be won; and we are 100% behind Uhuru Kenyatta as he goes after this ‘tribe’ called corruption. We have also said DCI Kinoti haendi pahali,”The MPs said.
Mr Kamanda said that Ruto is just buying those MPs who are corrupt like Kimani Ichungwa and Ndindi Nyoro but the facts that Mount Kenya wont be intimidated.
‘Even if people are going to be bought, the locals they represent are 100% behind Uhuru Kenyatta, and his fight against corruption,”Kamanda said.
The leaders vowed not to allow selfish leaders to politicize the war against corruption.
