Bring it on, Tottenham Hotspur reveal their first game at their new stadium

After a long wait, Tottenham are now ready to play in their new stadium early next month in a Premier League match.

Tottenham Hotspur will play their first match at their new stadium on April 3 against Crystal Palace, the Premier League club have confirmed.

Brighton’s progression into the FA Cup semi-finals means Spurs will take on the Eagles in a midweek clash at the £1billion arena, with the Seagulls visiting the ‘Tottenham Hotspur Stadium’ later that month.

Manchester City will take on Spurs in the Champions League quarter-finals at the new stadium six days after the visit of Palace, on April 9.

Spurs’ new stadium will host a first test event on March 24 – an Under-18s match against Southampton at 3pm, with the capacity reduced to just 30,000.

Then, six days later on March 30, around 45,000 people will be allowed to enter Tottenham’s new 62,062-seater stadium for a Legends match, kicking off at 5.30pm.

A Spurs statement read: “Following Brighton’s victory against Millwall in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup this afternoon, we can confirm that the first Premier League match in our new stadium will be against Crystal Palace on Wednesday 3 April.

“This will be followed on Tuesday 9 April by the first leg of our UEFA Champions League quarter-final against Manchester City, kick-off 8pm.

“We shall now play Brighton in the Premier League at the new stadium on either Tuesday 23 or Wednesday 24 April.”

UEFA also wanted Tottenham to play at least one Premier League match before they can hold their Champions League quarter-final first leg against Manchester City there.
