Lamu County police officers have apprehended a man from Makueni County after he was caught dressed in female Muslim attire. Mutuku Nzambia, the 24-year-old suspect, was ratted out by an unnamed person who claimed they spotted a girl of suspicious character within their neighbourhood.
Lamu County police officers have apprehended a man from Makueni County after he was caught dressed in female Muslim attire. According to police reports, officers on patrol visited the house of Idris Kororo, a Somali man, where they found Mutuku and took him in.
The suspect dressed in a buibui, hijab and bra claimed he was a woman who went by the name Farida Chemutai.
“The owner of the house escaped when he saw the police. At the station, a thorough search was conducted and it was discovered the suspect was male and not female,” the authorities said.
It is understood Mutuku comes from Kithuku location, Makueni County. According to authorities, he arrived at Lamu County from Nairobi on March, 11 2019.
“He claims he was invited to Lamu by a friend named Zainab Wambua whom he has never met ever since he arrived,” the report said. Mutuku will remain in police custody pending multiagency interrogation.
