Kapenguria Member of Parliament Samuel Moroto has now blamed President Uhuru Kenyatta for the current corruption scandals in his administration.
According to MP Moroto president Kenyatta’s partnership with ODM leader was a bad idea as it has weakened the opposition, a development that has given a good environment for grand theft of public resources to thrive.
The MP was speaking during a funds drive in Kapenguria town to raise funds for gospel artists from the county, where he further blamed the Public Accounts Committee(PAC) and the Public Investment Committee (PAC) saying they have been unable to discharge their duties because of the handshake.
“PAC and PIC which are the watchdog committee are dead. Corruption is rife because those in opposition and those in government are eating together. No one watches the other,” said MP Moroto
“The two committee need to be disbanded. They have failed in their mandate of ensuring that public resources are safeguarded,” added Mr Moroto.
His remarks come a time when the DCI is investigation the dam scandal which has seen Ksh 21 billion mismanaged by individuals who have since been summoned by the DCI.
