The residents of Matungulu, Machakos County woke up to some sad news after a body of an infant was discovered near a dam in Sengani sub-location.
According to Matungulu assistant county commissioner James Nyegenye while confirming the incident he said, “The child’s body was dumped near Savano dam, it could be a day or two old.”
While confirming the incident Sengani assistant chief Catherine Mwikali further added saying that it was not easy to identify whether the body was a girl or a boy as dogs had fed on half of the body.
“We can’t know whether it’s a boy or a girl because half the body has been eaten by dogs,” Mwikali said.
Mwikali said the matter was reported to Tala police station.
An investigation has been launched to find the mother of the child.
