Musila back Kalonzo for presidency

Former Kitui Senator David Musila has backed Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s 2022 presidential bid.

Musila announced his support for Kalonzo while speaking at Kauwi Primary School in Kitui West.

He further said the Ukambani political kingpin is the best-suited candidate to take up the country’s leadership from President Uhuru Kenyatta.

“We must embrace the unity of purpose for those who care about the Kamba community and just let Kalonzo Musyoka be our spokesperson and presidential candidate in 2022.”

The former senator added that Kalonzo is experienced and would push the country’s agenda if he succeeds President Kenyatta in 2022.

Musila asked Kamba politicians not to let their personal interests cause disunity.

He asked Kalonzo to urgently bring the Kamba community together ahead of the 2022 polls.

Musila’s move to endorse Kalonzo’s Presidency is a big boost to the former Vice President.

The ex-Kitui senator unsuccessfully contested the Kitui gubernatorial seat in the last General Elections.

Musila emerged third behind Julius Malombe and Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu.

He is among the Kamba politicians who campaigned for President Kenyatta’s re-election in the October 26, 2017 repeat election.

Musila recently bagged a state appointment after months of being in the political cold.

He was appointed to chair the Kenya National Museums for a period of three years, a non-renewable term.
