Jorginho Pleads With Chelsea Fans For Patience

Jorginho has underlined his desire to prove himself at Chelsea FC following his move to the club last summer.

The midfielder has endured something of an underwhelming start to life at Stamford Bridge since his move from Napoli last year, despite him having been a regular fixture in Maurizio Sarri’s first team.

Jorginho has been deployed in a central midfield role for most of the season but he has not been the most consistent performer for the Blues.

Indeed, Jorginho was booed by sections of the Chelsea FC supporters at Stamford Bridge when he came on as a substitute during the clash with Malmo in the Europa League last month.

But the Brazilian has now underlined his desire to prove himself to his doubters as he looks to forge a successful career at the west London club.

Speaking in an interview with the Guardian, as quoted by Metro, Jorginho said: “The fans are entitled to have their opinion, to be supporters and think whatever they like.

“It also gives me strength to work more to change their views on me.

“Even if they think I am Sarri’s man, I want to show them why Sarri likes me, that I am a good player and they are wrong to have that attitude towards me.

“But I have never had any doubts. I believe in myself. I know how hard I am working and how much effort I am putting in.

“So, while I accept [the critics’] views, I don’t share them. I respect their opinion, I listen, I stay calm and work hard, trying to do better.

“I knew it was going to be a hard challenge over here. I knew it was going to be very tough, so I am comfortable with that and I am learning from my mistakes.”

Chelsea FC will return to Europa League action on Thursday night when they travel to Ukraine to take on Dynamo Kiev in the return leg of their Europa League last 16 clash.

The Blues won the home leg 3-0 last week to take a big step towards reaching the quarter-finals.
