How Arsenal stars helped Aubameyang beat De Gea

After missing his penalty in the North London Derby against Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang revealed that he was confident he would score his penalty against Manchester United.

Arsenal were awarded a penalty after Fred was judged to have nudged Alexandre Lacazette from the back with referee John Moss pointing to the spot. Aubameyang stepped up to take it, sending the ball in the middle of the goal frame to double Arsenal’s advantage in the game after Granit Xhaka had put them in front in the 12th minute with a long-range strike.

Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports after the game, Aubameyang revealed that he was confident he would convert his spot kick.

“I was confident, my teammates gave me a lot of confidence. You can see Lacazette gave me the penalty and that was cool from him. I was really focused, I did a mistake against Tottenham and looked down at the last moment, I didn’t watch Lloris and I missed it, so today I watched De Gea and had a big focus to score the penalty.”
