Andrei Kanchelskis has labelled Alexis Sanchez as the Fernando Torres of the club, considering his abysmal performance since being signed.

According to Andrei Kanchelskis, it’s time Manchester United cut their losses with flop Alexis Sanchez.

The Chile international is currently out with a knee injury after being forced off in United’s 3-2 win over Southampton last weekend.

Caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revived the fortunes of most United players, though Sanchez has yet to hit a truly great period of form and has been at the club over a year now.

Solskjaer may seem like a miracle worker to most of us right now, but he has been unable to rekindle Sanchez’s top form from his Arsenal days and this is the club’s highest earner we’re talking about…

A disappointing three goals in 29 Premier League appearances for the club is borderline laughable for a player that arrived with such high expectations. Sanchez is not playing at the level Solskjaer and fans alike demand of a top player.

The problem with his ridiculous wages is he’s 30 and his contract doesn’t expire until 2022.

To get rid of Sanchez this summer, United will be hoping for interest from a Chinese Super League team, or may have to sell him at a reduced price but there won’t be any club willing to meet the salary he is paid by United.

Former United winger Kanchelskis believes Sanchez is on the verge of becoming the Reds’ equivalent to Fernando Torres at Chelsea.
