Finally some Good News for Man United Fans After Arsenal Loss

David De Gea and Man United remain in negotiations over a new contract for more than a year now. The Spaniard’s current deal with the club runs out in the summer of 2020. According to Rob Dawson, ESPN’s Man United correspondent, the club are ‘pushing for a breakthrough’ in the negotiationswith the player’s representatives.

By extending Dave’s services on a new long-term deal United want to avoid cut-price bids from their rivals in the summer, as per Dawson’s report. Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are all said to be ready to go all in for the 28-year-old in the next transfer window.

Sources have told ESPN FC that De Gea wants to stay at Old Trafford where he has won United’s player of the year award in four of the last five seasons but wants the Red Devils to make him the club’s highest earner.

Alexis Sanchez is the highest paid player at United at the moment with £400,000 per-week wages and the club are understood to be reluctant to raise De Gea’s salary above the Chilean’s money.

United are trying to convince the Spain no.1 to sign a £350,000-a-week contract, albeit, De Gea is waiting for the club to come up with a much higher offer.
