Fearless Koscielny played against United through a brutal pain

Mirror report that Laurent Koscielny played whole 90 minutes for Arsenal in our victory over Manchester United. The 2-0 win boosted the Gunners’ top 4 hopes but now we have to ask: at what cost?

It appears the French player had to play through a brutal pain in the second half of the game at the Emirates. During the later stages of the second half of the clash, the player had a three-inch gash on his leg.

Koscielny picked up his injury in the early stages of the second half and the cut even needed to be clamped together. At one point Emery was going to replace Laurent with Mustafi and it looked like the substitution, the German even started to warm up, is about to happen but Koscielny was able to continue playing. But the last 40 minutes of the game the player had to fight not only our opponents but also his pain.

No one knew about what our captain had to go through until today, when club officials revealed what happened and what a heroic act Koscielny performed.

It is still not clear how serious this injury is and if it will cause any long-term consequences. Koscielny will be assessed by Arsenal’s medical staff and then we will find out if he will be able to take part in our upcoming second leg against Rennes in Europa League on Thursday, March 15.
