The ODM National Governance Council (NGC) ratified the disciplinary committee decision to expel Jumwa for allegedly contravening party’s Constitution by publicly declaring her support for Ruto’s 2022 presidential bid.

Addressing a women’s fundraising forum in Jaribuni on Saturday, March 9, Ruto described ODM’s male leaders as a bunch of useless men out to frustrate a bold female MP.

He questioned why the Raila Odinga led party was hellbent on having Jumwa out on one hand yet had pardoned her Msambweni counterpart Suleiman Dori who was was accused with same disloyalty allegations.

“These men are afraid to deal with fellow men. They are short of ideas and brains and want to use Aisha Jumwa as an example. If they are real men they should have dispensed similar disciplinary action to male MPs co-accused with her,” Ruto said.

“Hawa ni bure kabisa (They are useless). How can men convene a party National Governance Council meeting to discuss one lady in Kenya?” posed Ruto.

According to the deputy president, the Malindi MP needed no permission from anyone to interact with him in devising ways and establishing strategies to improve livelihoods of her constituents. He said Jumwa whose expulsion had been temporarily stopped by Political Parties Disputes Tribunal was being victimised over alleged offences many male legislators in ODM including Raila had committed.
