PSG Boss Advices Arsenal on How to Win Against Manchester United

Former Borussia Dortmund head coach Thomas Tuchel dismissed the tactics of Manchester United in their shock comeback win in Paris on Wednesday ahead of a trip to face Arsenal at the Emirates this weekend.

Speaking after the match, the Paris Saint-Germain boss derided the approach taken by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and even compared the 20-time champions of England to Guingamp, currently stuck at the foot of the Ligue 1 table.

Unai Emery watched on as his team were beaten by French opposition on Thursday evening in the first leg of their Europa League round of 16 clash with Rennes.

After going a man down due to a red card for Sokratis Papastathopoulos the visitors shipped three goals to lose 3-1. They will now need to win 2-0 at the Emirates in the second leg or beat Rennes by a margin of three goals or more if they manage to get an away goal in England.

United are vying with Arsenal with a top four spot in the Premier League this season, with Liverpool and Manchester City dominating the top two spots in the table and Tottenham Hotspur the favourites to finish third.

“After the second goal, we controlled the match, we played with a lot of quality,” said the PSG manager, as reported by the Metro . “We react well to the first goal we gave them. We had a lot of chances but we did not score the second, or the third.

“Aside from that, with not even a chance, with not even anything they get a second goal. The second goal turned the match completely in our heads.”

Arsenal were the better team in the north London derby against Spurs last weekend, and could have won the match had Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang put away a late penalty. Instead, he failed to score and the game ended 1-1 and was also poor in the loss to Rennes.

The Gunners will have to take chances as and when they are presented to them as United visit the Emirates with Solskjaer’s team having punished PSG by exploiting almost every mistake made by their hosts at the Parc Des Princes, while Tuchel’s side let opportunities pass them by.

“In the second half, they didn’t have a single chance,” he added. “I have the same feeling now as I did after our defeat to Guingamp in the Coupe de la Ligue, it was impossible to lose and we lost with three penalties.
