Conroversial MP and former immediate SONU leader Babu Owino will not vet Education Cabinet Secretary Prof Magoha.
Suspense was high on whether the controversial MP would be in the committee to vet the appointed CS.
According to the parliament’s standing orders, it is the educational committee that is supposed to vet nominees into the education sector.
Currently, the education committee is headed by the MP for Tinderet Julius Melly.
Babu Owino belongs to the Public Investments Committee as a member. In 2018, Babu had considered vying for the chair of the committee but he later gave up to vie the vice.
Babu Owino, officially known as Paul Ongiri did not win the vice position either but he ended up in the committee as a member.
