Kericho politician denies cheating with ‘clande’

A married Kericho politician and prominent lawyer has invalidated rumors going round of cheating on his wife with a university girl.

Sammy Keter said that the messages and photos doing rounds on social media linking him to a clandestine relationship with a Masai Mara University student were a string of lies generated by his rivals to tarnish his name and successful career.

Keter’s wife has also denied posting a suicide note on Facebook and threatening to leave Keter over ‘his affairs with young university girls’ as earlier alleged.

“I have never posted anything linking my husband to cheating or the said suicide note,” she said. “They are even saying my daughter is the lady’s agemate which is not true because she is much younger. I don’t know the source of all that but we are suspecting the student’s boyfriend.”

Keter declared that, “I know the said student, we come from the same area and she was among those who supported me during my campaigns. I’ve learnt she had issues with a boyfriend who threatened to link her with a prominent figure like me.”

He added: “The boy comes from the same place too, but I don’t know how he managed to make the messages appear that way. I know his parents, we are still weighing if should take legal action. I’m away at the moment, but once I’m back, I will meet his father so that we can see how to help the boy the right way.”

According to the alleged lover of Koech, Faith Chepkoech, “I’ve never met Keter even though we supported him when he was vying for the parliamentary seat. These rumours started when I ended my relationship with my boyfriend. He was not happy and threatened to teach me lesson,” she told The Nairobian.
