Four Difficult Questions I Will Ask Raila to Prove Whether His Fight Against Corruption & Impunity is Honest

Today if I’m put on one table with the Rt. Hon. Raila Amollo Odinga, I’ll ask him some very difficult questions. I’ll find out from Jakom whether he is being honest about the so-called fight against corruption. Because truthfully speaking, he is not.

I’ll remind Jakom that his backyard has some of the most under performing Governors in the country. Luo Nyanza Counties are defined by graft, gross incompetence and impunity. I’ll point out to Jakom that he has never raised his voice against the sad state of devolution in Luoland. Instead, he receives millions of shillings from these Governors who always endeavour to pay patronage to him.

I’ll also tell Jakom that in his inner circle are people who have been adversely mentioned in various government reports as the godfathers of the drug trade in Africa. I’ll ask him to read the Saitoti report that named one of his closest confidants as a top-level drug kingpin who moves the highest volume of narcotics and opioids in Africa. I’ll ask him whether he has received cash donations from such individuals. If he has, then he lacks the moral authority to lecture anyone on graft.

I’ll also jerk the memory of Jakom a little and tell him that a few months before the 2007 General Elections, he was gifted a Hummer by Don Bosco Gichana. Jakom knew that Don was a fraudster who was later convicted in Tanzania on charges of money laundering. Yet he accepted his gift. How can he purport to advise the Catholic church against receiving donations from people like Ruto?

I’ll finally frankly open up to Jakom and put it to him that he has never been comfortable with people making public donations. He viciously fought Kidero in 2013 over a 3 million shillings donation he made towards the building of a school in Awendo. Instead, Jakom is happy if such donations are made directly to him or to his wife.
