Sports Cabinet Secretary Amb. Amina Mohamed has eulogized the late Rudisha.
Daniel Matasi Rudisha, passed on, on Wednesday night at 73 years.
The deceased is the father to World Record holder and two-time Olympic champion in the men 800m, David Rudisha.
Amb. Amina praised the late as a legendary who played an instrumental role in pioneering Kenya’s success in short distance running, and inspired a new generation of champions.
“It is with deep sadness that I’ve learnt of the passing of Kenya’s legendary sprinter Mzee Daniel Rudisha,1968 4x400m relay Olympic Silver Medalist,” tweeted Amina.
“It is upon his bold strides and legacy that @rudishadavid and other world champions have drawn upon and built on. As a nation, we have lost a great sportsman and a patriot. The entire @moscakenya community wishes the family God’s comfort & strength during this trying moment.” Stated Amb. Amina.
