Pure class! Here is what Manchester United star Lukaku did to PSG star after loss

Fair play! See what Lukaku did to PSG star after Man United’s historic Champions League win

Rather than join the manic Manchester United celebrations after their dramatic win over PSG, Romelu Lukaku showed admirable sportsmanship.

Romelu Lukaku spent time consoling Presnel Kimpembe at full time after the handball decision

The striker, who scored a brace in the 3-1 win (3-3 agg – United through on away goals), sought out Presnel Kimpembe and comforted the PSG defender who seemed inconsolable at full-time. Kimpembe was adjudged to have handled the ball in the box and after consulting VAR, the referee gave the penalty that Marcus Rashford converted to put United through.

Kimpembe was hardly at fault for the spot-kick and had his hand by his side, making the decision even more difficult to take. And Lukaku was the first opponent to recognise his anguish, picking the 23-year-old off the ground before embracing him and offering a few words of comfort. The centre back was on his haunches reflecting on the dramatic end to the game and his untimely intervention.

It was then that Lukaku was filmed speaking to him for 30 seconds or so before heading off to join the United players in celebration. Fans took to Twitter in praise of the Belgian for showing such restraint and thinking of Kimpembe amid the ecstasy of United’s Parc des Princes triumph.

David de Gea then joined in the Manchester United players to sympathise with Kimpembe

One wrote: ‘Lukaku spending a lot of time comforting Kimpembe after the game. Baller’. And another added: ‘Lukaku consoling Kimpembe at full time. Class act.’
