Three pupils said to have been kidnapped on Sunday evening in Elburgon town have been found.
The minors, aged between 13 and 14, all in Class Eight, went missing at around 5pm after watching a football match at a local primary school.
“When the match ended we left for home. Along the way, a vehicle pulled over and the driver asked us for direction to Elburgon Secondary School,” said on one of the minors.
“We gave him directions but he insisted that one of us accompanies him,” the minor said.Out of fear all three boarded the vehicle. The driver picked two men in Elburgon town, and drove towards Nakuru.
“We got suspicious after the two men boarded the vehicle. Minutes later, we all fell unconscious. We do not know what they did to us to make us lose consciousness,” the minor said.
The three boys regained consciousness on Monday morning and found themselves covered in blankets in the middle of a forest.
They said later, one of the suspects took them food and untied them. They were warned against attempting to escape.
“One of them kept making calls saying mzigo (luggage) was ready for picking. It was afternoon when they became restless and told us to run without looking back,” said the minors.
They said the kidnappers disagreed on what to do with them when a driver failed to turn up.
The minors walked kilometres to a tarmac road and later Nakuru town, where good Samaritans offered them food. They slept on stalls and found their way home on Tuesday.
The matter was reported to Elburgon police station. Molo OCPD Bernard Kioko said investigation was on.It is still not clear what the initial motive of the kidnappers was.
