Solskjaer on his future: ‘I will try to do the best job interview I have ever done’

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s contract expires at the end of the season and surely every United fan, as well as the players, hopes the Norwegian will stay at Old Trafford as his results with the club prove our manager is absolutely fit for perhaps the most difficult job in football.

Commenting on his future, Solskjaer says he really enjoys working at the club where he spent 11 years as a player: “I have this job until this season is over. I haven’t heard anything else. I will try to do the best job interview I have ever done, and that’s why I enjoy my time here. I’m at a club where I know everyone. It’s natural.”

He has recently admitted his contract with Molde has expired and if United’s board decide not to prolong his deal with the club Solskjaer will have to sign a new contract with the Norwegian side. In December Ole committed his future to the Eliteserien club for the next three years as he couldn’t even imagine he would receive a call from Ed Woodward.

However, it seems like Ole’s relationship with United’s executive vice-chairman are quite good which gives high hopes Solskjaer will stay: “It was Ed who made contact [for the caretaker role], so I guess he’s the one with responsibility (to make contact about the permanent job). My relationship with him is very good. We speak quite frequently.”
