When Kimitei Nyongio was arrested by police in the Moi regime in 1988, he later fell sick and died. He had been arrested over his land.

Shortly after he died, seven politicians with powerful links to the president of the day Daniel Moi tried to grab the deceased’s land located in Eldoret

For over 20 years, the family of the deceased has been fighting for their land which is 795 acres and valued at about Sh2 billion.

The battle is won to the family after the court ruled that the seven were trying to acquire the land fraudulently.

Kimitei’s family now wants to evict the families of prominent politicians who now occupy the land.
