Kenyans come into Defense of the striking JKIA Workers

Kenyans have come into defense of the Kenya Airways workers who put down their tools on Wednesday leaving thousands of passengers stranded at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in Nairobi .

By 8am, tens of flights into and out of the airport had also been hit by the job boycott that is threatening to paralyse air transport in the country.

The Kenya Aviation Workers Union (Kawu) has questioned the proposed merger of the loss-making airline and the Kenya Aviation Authority (KAA).

The strike has been called to protest against unfair staff hiring, poor remuneration and the proposed takeover of the airport by Kenya Airways (KQ).

The union’s members include cabin crew, security, air traffic controllers, and aircraft maintenance service providers.

Kenyans are now defending the striking workers aligning their action to county’s poor governance.
