Greenwood due back at school on Friday after PSG trip

It’s so bad with injuries at the moment Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has to rely on schoolboys – literally. As The Times write, striker Mason Greenwood is due back at Ashton on Mersey School on Friday, a day after his trip to France alongside Man United seniors.

The club have a partnership agreement with the school so young kids could work both on their education and footballing skills. They can carry on their studies at United’s Academy.

Greenwood is not the only kid to represent United in Paris. One third of the entire squad will be comprised of youngsters. One of them is Brandon Williams, a versatile 18-year-old full-back who had never before had a look in the first team.

The young players had a session alongside their seniors at Parc des Princes on arrival from England. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer can only count on eleven first-teamers plus a permanently-injured Marcos Rojo. This means at least 5 Academy players will be on the bench in Paris.

Solskjaer refuses to be scrapped before the kick-off whistle. He insists there is always a chance, especially for Man United.
