Students sleep in class due to several factors that may originate from their classroom itself or from somewhere else. Sleeping in class is generally perceived as of a lack of interest in the subject or teacher.
However, the truth may lie in other external factors that are usually overlooked. Whatever the case, poor sleeping patterns of students deprives them from getting good grades.
It also leads to the loss of self-confidence on the part of students who feel left behind. Imagine waking up from sleep to a question from the teacher you cannot provide an answer to.
