Rwanda’s Foreign Minister and International Cooperation , Richard Sezibera has warned citizens not to travel to Uganda.

This, the minister said was “due to ongoing arrests, harassment, torture, incarceration without consular access, deportation,” among other causes.

This however, is even as Ugandans travelling through Rwanda are safe.

Mr Olivier Nduhungirehe, Rwanda’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs/Regional Cooperation further stated that more than 40 Rwanda citizens languish in cells of Uganda’s Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI) and more than 800 Rwandans who were deported from or refused entry to Uganda since January 2018.”

Uganda authorities, through the Uganda Media Centre executive director, Ofwono Opondo, denied the claims.
