Revealed: When Oxlade-Chamberlain Will Make His Return

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will play for the Reds’ U23 team on Friday afternoon as he makes his comeback from a serious knee injury.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has been out since he picked up ligament damage in the Champions League semi-final against AS Roma last season at Anfield.

With a lack of creativity in the midfield area at times this season, not least in recent goalless draws against Everton and Manchester United, he has no doubt been sorely missed.

He will not be straight back to the level he was before the injury, and it might still be some time until we see him play for the first team again, but failing any more setbacks, it seems likely that Oxlade-Chamberlain will get some minutes before the end of the campaign.

Even just to have him on the bench would be a big plus; it will be a big boost when he is named in an 18-man squad for the first time after returning.
