Githeri Media! DPP Noordin Haji Exposes The Standard for Fabricating lies

The media always thrives on controversy to sale news. The Kenyan media has however gone a step further and started competing with bloggers and tabloids for sensational stories.

Kenyan newspapers have been competing to report on corruption stories. All headlines are always about corruption.

On Monday, The Standard Newspaper ran a story about how DPP Noordin Haji has uncovered companies owned by Cabinet Secretaries which are benefiting from government tenders.

The Newspaper said that the companies are overseas. It further said that Haji traveled to Italy with a team from EACC and Assets Recovery Authority where he uncovered the dossier.

But the DPP has now come out and revealed that the story was fabricated.

“I wish to confirm to the public that I am not privy to the alleged information, and the article is therefore grossly untrue,” he indicated.

The DPP has further asked the newspaper to apologize to him or he will take legal action.
