The Death of Deputy President William Ruto’s official Pilot Captain Mario Magonga continues to draw mixed reactions among Kenyans.
While some see it just as an accident, others are reading malice in it.
Captain Mario lost his life in a chopper crash in Turkana County. On board his chopper were four Americans who also lost their lives.
The late Mario was flying the Americans after their helicopter came down at Lobolo in Central Island National Park on Sunday evening.
A number of leaders and Kenyans have expressed fears on social media that this could be an assassination attempt on the Deputy President, especially considering the rising political temperatures surrounding him.
According to Nominated MP Gideon Keter, the late Captain Mario is a well trained Pilot who has flew dignitaries all over the world and as such his death raises a number of suspicions.
“A well-trained pilot who has been cleared and certified to fly high profile dignitaries like President Obama, EU members and Deputy President of Kenya can’t crush just like that. We read, impunity and malice from the enemy and to bereaved families, pole, and God is not asleep. We need a full detailed report to the cause of the crush, this is not a normal incident… We are not acting movies this time, our aviation industry should be protected.” said the nominated MP Gideon Keter on Facebook.
