She might be a millionairess, but Paris Hilton has realised that the one thing her money can’t buy is love.
The American socialite and businesswoman split with her fiance – actor and model Chris Zylka – in November and to overcome her heartbreak she has thrown herself into her work ever since.
She told me: “I don’t have time for love right now. I hardly have time for myself. I am constantly travelling over 250 days a year, never home hardly, just focusing on myself, my business and my friends.”
I caught up with Paris, 38, at Elton John’s Aids Foundation Academy Awards viewing party, where she was courting a lot of attention.
It was at an Oscars party eight years ago where she first met Chris, 33. They dated for two years before he popped the question in the fashionable ski resort of Aspen.
Best known as Flash Thompson in the 2012 Spider-Man reboot, he had Paris’s name tattooed on his arm and she praised him as “perfect in every way”.
She does not seem too bothered about finding a new Mr Perfect just yet. But she hasn’t always been so slow off the mark when it comes to men.
At 19, she was linked to movie star Leonardo DiCaprio and also dated Terminator 2 star Edward Furlong. At 21 she went out with model Jason Shaw and was also linked to Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst and Backstreet Boy Nick Carter.
Then followed her infamous sex tape, A Night in Paris, with then-boyfriend Rick Salomon.
“There is always a lot of guys everywhere, always,” she purred at this week’s bash. “When I am ready, the most important thing is loyalty, someone who is your best friend and who you can trust and who loves you for you.
“When you know you know. But I don’t know yet.”
