Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter has accused DP William Ruto of unfair dragging Raila Odinga to Sh21 billion dams scam that was exposed by DCI George Kinoti last week.
The top detective and his team are probing circumstances under which a suspected Sh21 billion was paid for construction of Kamwarer and Arror dams without due diligence, even as the contracted Italian company insisted that the work had started.
But Keter, a fierce critic of the DP, insists that he should come out and tell the nation what he knows about the payments yet he had not been summoned by the DCI.
The firebrand legislature tweeted that he is tired of leaders who blame Hon. Raila when mentioned in a scandal.
Last year, Keter along with Cherangany MP Joshua Kutuny and Moiben’s Silas Tiren, dragged the DP to maize scandal, which saw farmers delay in getting their payments from NCPB.
But at Nyeri on Saturday, Ruto insisted that Mr Odinga is the one behind the dams controversy, adding that there is nothing strange in the project since it’s ongoing.
“We will build those dams because we are a responsible government that will stand by what we promised Kenyans. What is unacceptable to us is exaggeration with the aim of politicising and profiling government projects to be used in political campaigns down the road,” he said.
