Earlier today, the UN Women Kenya has launched the 50 Journeys: A book documenting stories of courage and transformation from women political leaders in Kenya.
They mentioned that Increasing women political leadership remains a key to achieving gender equality in Kenya & globally.
The leaders today attended the official launch of the #50Journeys Coffee Book in Nairobi.
Some of the Kenyan women in politics who received the honours include
– Veteran Women Leader and former Member of Parliament Ms. Marere Wa Mwachai
-Kitui county governor, Charity Ngilu
– Bomet County Governor Joyce Laboso
-Nairobi Women Rep Esther Passaris among others
The current state of women leadership particularly in Africa is a manifestation of change and revolution that should be appreciated.
More women feel empowered and have taken up roles and positions of leadership.
