Au Envoy Raila Odinga’s lawyer Senator Okong’o Mogeni has threatened to sue DCI Kinoti and Ethics and Anti corruption commission for taking longer to solve corruption cases in Nyamira county.
The senator lamented that two entities were reluctant to handle cases of corruption reported in Nyamira County.
He said: “It is not that EACC and DCI are not aware. I have presented petitions to them and even some residents have done so. So many months later, nothing is taking place in terms of investigations and arrests.
“I am now moving to court to sue these entities. We can’t be talking of corruption yet they are not willing to handle it. I will demand to know why Nyamira is being spared,” he argued.
For instance, Governor John Nyagarama’s team could not account for Sh1billion in 2016/17, even though the government claims that most of the money was not absorbed as allocated.
And Mogeni, a veteran lawyer, is facing frequently attacks from locals who accuse him of failing to oversight the county government properly.
