Police in Uganda have confiscated electronic gadgets belonging to controversial socialite Bad Black who has been under the CID radar following her claims president Museveni impregnated her in 2000.
It is [reported that officers from the Uganda Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) took Bad Black’s laptops and phone to help them join the dots in their investigations on cases related to misuse of social media and disturbing the President’s peace.
News about the confiscation was first shared by the socialite in an interview with a Ugandan newspaper New Vision just moments after she was released on police bond. Black claimed CID officers who had summoned her remained with her gadgets even after she was released.
“They have remained with my phones and laptops for three days as they conduct investigations. I am willing to go to court. I did not mention the President’s name in that video. I just said Mzee and that is all.
“I am not in politics. Anyone who wants to get me involved in politics, I am not interested. I just do what makes me happy on social media. I know this will end,” she said. The latest development came to play just days after she was summoned by CID over claims she insulted Museveni.
According to the summon signed by Deputy Director of Criminal Investigations Joseph Obwona, the socialite recorded and shared a video in August 2018 claiming the Ugandan president impregnated her in 2000.
The video is said to have been shared online during the time when Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi, AKA Bobi Wine and 32 other people were arrested and detained for treason.
Bad Black’s video had her claiming Wine was not among people who stoned Museveni’s vehicle and went ahead to abuse the president claiming he even helped her to procure an abortion.
