Panic grasped the inhabitants of Kerugoya, Kirinyaga County after a Mugumo tree came tumbling down.
The hallowed tree, estimated to be 200 years of age fell, between two houses, causing alarm among the occupants. Nobody was harmed amid the episode, which drew the curiosity of Kikuyu seniors from the area.
The occupants dread that a disaster may come upon them in light of the fact that the consecrated trees, under which penances are offered, once in a while fall.
