Police chase man who impregnated blind girl

Police are on the case of a man who reportedly impregnated a blind form one student at Kapenguria School for Visually Impaired.

The school’s principal David Losil said the institution is willing to re -admit the girl after she recovers fully.

The principal said the student was rushed to hospital two weeks after reporting for her first term.

Miscarriage

“We discovered that the girl was pregnant barely two weeks after admitting her to the institution. We later leant that she miscarriage   according to the medical report obtained from the hospital. But we are willing to re admit her back to continue with her education,” Mr Losil said.

He said they have condemned the heinous act done to her and called for justice to prevail because this is a case of abuse of disable persons.

School unaware

Losil said the institution was not aware who was responsible of her pregnancy since the incident happened outside the institution.

Police confirmed that the case was booked at Kakuma police station in Turkana West Sub County with the OB number 42/1/2/2019.

Kakuma police boss Joseph Cheruiyot said the suspect was arrested and took plea in court.

“I am aware of the incident. We arrested the suspected and arraigned him in court. The suspect is now a remandee at Lodwar GK prison,” Mr Cheruiyot said.
