Police in Kisii are investigating details of how a form 3 student at St. Joseph’s Nyabigena Secondary school mysteriously died on Tuesday.
According to reports, the student died after being slapped and kicked in the stomach severally by a prefect, who is a form 4.
“The deceased was reading a Bible some few minutes to 7am. The prefect came in and after an altercation with the deceased he slapped and kicked him on the stomach after which he immediately collapsed,” one of the students told the media.
Parents in the school have revealed that they had received complains from their children about cases of prefects beating students.
“My son informed me of the prefects have tendency of beating up other students in the school. This issue should be investigated further,” said one of the parents who just escorted his son to school on Tuesday afternoon.
The Principal of the school refused to talk to the media while police have said they will release a report after investigations.
