United had been without some key men for the 0-0 draw with Liverpool on Sunday, in which they lost three more players.
And Marcus Rashford could yet add to that list as he carries a knock.
The lengthy injury list has led to Solskjaer turning to United’s youth players, with Tahith Chong, Angel Gomes and James Garner all in contention to feature.
But when will Solskjaer have a full squad to choose from again? Here is when the injured players are likely to return:
Marcus Rashford
Ankle injury
Return date – February 27 2019
The England international appeared to be struggling at the end of the draw with Liverpool.
Solskjaer would be “very surprised” if he featured against Palace but the lay-off won’t be a lengthy one.
Jesse Lingard
Hamstring injury
Return date – March 2019
Lingard made a rapid recovery from an initial injury to take his place on the bench at Old Trafford on Sunday.
He was thrown on early after a Juan Mata injury but tweaked his hamstring when he tried to round Alisson.
Anthony Martial
Groin injury
Return date – March 2 2019
Martial didn’t make it for the encounter with Liverpool and won’t be risked against Palace.
Solskjaer hopes he will be back for the clash with Southampton at the weekend.
Phil Jones
Illness
Return date – March 2 2019
Jones is unlikely to be risked against Palace but could be back for the match with Southampton.
Juan Mata
Hamstring injury
Return date – March 10 2019
The Spaniard was forced off during the first half against Jurgen Klopp’s men.
After the encounter, he suggested the problem was not a serious one.
Mason Greenwood
Knock
Return date – March 10 2019
The teenager would likely have been in the squad for the clash with Palace but Solskjaer confirmed he would be out for a fortnight.
Nemanja Matic
Muscle injury
Return date – March 10 2019
United were dealt a huge blow as the Serbian midfielder was ruled out of the Liverpool showdown.
Solskjaer confirmed he would be out for a “couple of weeks” – meaning he may return to face Arsenal on March 10.
Matteo Darmian
Muscle injury
Return date – March 2019
The Italian has been struggling with a knock and is unlikely to be fit until the weekend.
Antonio Valencia
Calf injury
Return date – March 16 2019
United’s captain has again suffered a calf problem having only returned to training.
He is still a few weeks off returning to first-team action.
Ander Herrera
Hamstring injury
Return date – March 16 2019
The Spaniard was also forced off in the goalless draw with Liverpool on Sunday.
United should have him back within a few weeks but the Champions League clash with PSG may come too soon.
