Troubled Samburu Governor defends his 4 months attained wealth at EACC

The Samburu Governor was questioned by the Ethics and Corruption commission and denied claims of being corrupt and embezzling public funds and he alleges witch hunt in the charges pinned on him.

According to EACC the funds which were lost over a period of four months were allegedly siphoned through real estate development projects in and out of the county.

The alleged conspiracy is said to have involved the governor’s close family, members, county employees and friends who received massive tenders. A sizeable chunk of the funds was allegedly channeled to a company linked to a former primary school teacher whose newly acquired wealth is now a target of investigations by the EACC.
